Day 10 - Anacortes

No quotes today, no frills today, only a few photos and a quick rundown of today's activities. Why? Why, do you ask? Because here in our room at The Island Inn I read, "Data ports are located behind the phone and provide dial-up access for internet users." What's that all about? Dial-up access? C'mon. Hopefully the motel next door or a neighbor will have a strong signal. I'll give that a try. Just in case, we'll make this short.
Margaret and I went to Snoqualmie to hang out with Chris and the Energizer Bunny this morning. Of course we had a great time and already miss hanging out with them, Thomas, and Georgia. They gave us the tour and I've included photos of Whitaker Park, the building they would like to buy for Lifepoint Church (That's a prayer request for you.), and Snoqualmie Falls. I also had to include a photo of the chicken sandwich and fries we had at Mike's Grill. Whoa, talk about good.
Next we went to Seattle - Tacoma Airport where we waited in the cell phone parking lot for a call from Jonathan Wentworth. We picked him up and headed to Anacortes around 5 o'clock. We got him set up at Washington State Park where he is camping and Margaret and I came back to the Island Inn where we also are camping! We ate supper at The Island Cafe, took Jonathan back to the camp and now we're getting ready for tomorrow and the beginning of our ride. It looks like we'll do most of our riding in the rain tomorrow but it won't be too bad because we have only around seventy miles to ride. Either way, tomorrow will be the day that Lord will make and we will rejoice and be glad in it (Psalm 118:24 slightly modified).
I appreciate so much all the comments, calls, and text messages we have received thus far. Beginning tomorrow I will not answer my cell phone while I'm pedaling. However, I will call you back or text you when we take a break from pedaling. For safety reasons, mine, I will refrain from multi-tasking, especially when one of the tasks involves pedaling up a mountain (or going down a mountain)! Margaret will be wired and will answer whenever.
Jonathan, Margaret, and I are excited about getting started tomorrow. Please keep us in your prayers.

  4. Barry & Margaret,
I feel like I have been with you both all week. It took me a couple of days of stolen moments to be able to catch up with ALL the prep time plus the daily posting of your trip. I am so excited for you and am daily being blessed keeping up with your adventure.
I just want you both to know how much I and my family love you. You have given your all in serving, ministering & loving Prince youth for over 30 years. I am one parent that appriciates ALL you have done. May God richly bless you with safety and the best of memories. Thanks for sharing with those who can't be with you, but are definitely with you in spirit. I will be daily praying for the people that God is going to use you to touch for His kingdom & glory.
    Love, Baracuda Queen(alias Marsha Hall)
