Monday, 23 March 2009 - Somebody's Birthday!
"Society is singularly in debt to the bicycle, since bicycle mechanics developed the airplane as well as the automobile."
-James E. Starrs, The Noiseless Tenor
"Bicycling is a big part of the future. It has to be. There's something wrong with a society that drives a car to work out in the gym."
One month from now, 23 April 2009, Margaret and I will be on our way westward! Our Explorer will be the transportation of choice for the ride to Anacortes. In Anacortes, Margaret's choice is still the Ford Explorer. My choice, crazy as it may seem to some, is a 2001 Cannondale R-600, 27 speed manual transmission, 120 psi tires, with one seat (well, almost one!), and a two-cylinder engine that gets incredible mileage.
